In this chapter, consideration is given to the way in which logistics and distribution are organized within a business. The importance of the integration of the logistics function into the business as a whole has been emphasized at various times throughout this book. There is a need for the organizational structure to reflect a similar form of integration. Thus, logistics organizational issues and human resource or ‘people’ aspects are addressed in this chapter.
