The Hidden Leader posits two important ideas. First, unacknowledged leaders are energy and innovation powerhouses in organizations; someone’s contribution to the value of a business need not be constrained by that person’s position on the organizational chart. By making hidden leaders visible, a manager influences the company’s overall culture. Although formal hierarchies remain in place, hidden leaders’ impact extends beyond their formal positions.
