Now that as a whole, we have entered the Fourth Industrial Revolution, there is a need to improve the future awareness, or ‘future consciousness’, of this generation improving its ability to think ahead, to consider, to envision, to model alternative futures, and to respond better to possible, probable, and preferred future eventualities. It was with this mission in mind that the faculty at University of Stellenbosch in South Africa developed the MPhil in Futures Studies, a two-year program to equip future leaders across industry sectors to develop into a professional futurist in understanding local and global issues and their impact on business strategy. ...
