Secrecy and speculation

The circumstances surrounding the tragic loss of Halifax V9977 and the 11 crew onboard have never been fully documented in an open publication. Needless to say, in time of war (and bearing in mind the sensitive nature of the work being carried out during the flight), much of the detail of the crash was hidden for years under a blanket of total secrecy.
