Introduction

In writing this book I have attempted to create a practical reference guide that will be useful on a day-to-day basis for those who are looking to introduce Lean, or who want to get more from their existing Lean programme. I have also tried to make this book as applicable to someone working in a public sector organization as it will be to a manufacturer or anyone working in the private sector. In effect, I have tried to write the book I wish I had been able to access when I first started out as a practitioner.
