The Little Book of the Shrinking Dollar: What You Can Do to Protect Your Money Now
by Addison Wiggin, Samantha Buker
Is My 401(k) Safe?
Argentina, about 10 years ago today, experienced one of the worst post-war monetary crises. Not only did they default on debt and devalue the currency, they nationalized pension assets. They even closed the banks!
Folks were eager to get whatever cash they could scrape together in whatever form they could over the border to keep their savings safe. They smuggled it in rowboats into Uruguay.
Similar things can happen here. That’s the catch. Capital controls can enslave your money and keep it within borders. The worse things get, the more troubled governments hate that you and your dough can escape.
I suggest you take action. You still have a shot to get plenty of money out. Things are pretty open for now, but I guarantee you, that when the gates close, they’ll shut with a clang, and who knows when they’ll open again?
