Nancy Green, CEO of Athleta, a Gap Inc. brand, experienced compassion early in her career. When she joined Gap, she was twenty-five and soon after she became pregnant with her first child. “I didn’t think I could do the job because I didn’t see other women that were doing the job as mothers.” But there was one exception. Another woman on the team pushed her to come back or else she’d never know what was possible. It worked.
