Create High Dynamic Range Images
Produce HDR-Like Results from a Single Image
Most HDR effects require careful planning and multiple shots at different exposures. Here, we’ll explore a way to get the greatest possible dynamic range out of a single image using techniques in the Lightroom Develop module combined with Photoshop layers.
Producing HDR from a single image:
1. First, create two virtual copies of the image in Lightroom. Right-click (Control-click) and select Create Virtual Copy, then repeat.
2. In the Develop module, select one of the virtual copies and use the Exposure and Shadows sliders to make exposure changes that optimize the dark areas of the image.
