1 Introduction
What are the various ways by which one can study strategic followership? This question raises two fundamental issues: methodological approaches and theoretical perspectives. This book is about the latter. A book that provides a theoretical lens equips those curious about the phenomena but lack the instruments for studying it. I write this book knowing full well three major facts. First, strategic followership is new, and there is a lack of empirical evidence on the concept and phenomena. In order to nurture its growth, there have to be ways of studying it. Theoretical lenses for studying it are therefore significant. Second, there is a divide between micro and macro scholars.
