Abstract
Chapter 9 consists of special topics and is restricted to two subjects of interest: the Kalman filter and the ionosphere. These two items, with a categorically antagonistic nature in terms of their influence, have a large impact upon satellite navigation in their own way. Their significance is described in this chapter in addition to their theoretical details. The chapter begins by describing the theory and working of the Kalman filter, following with practical applications.
