I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
1Introduction
1.1What Is Urban Remote Sensing?
In order to help completely understand the definition of urban remote sensing, the prerequisite is becoming familiar with the definition of remote sensing. Many scholars, such as Zhou (2003), Zhou et al. (2004), Lillesand and Kiefer (2000), and Schowengerdt (1997), have given definitions regarding “What is Remote Sensing?” in their books. A relatively complete definition is from Colwell (1997), whose definition is:
Remote Sensing is an art, science and technology of obtaining reliable information about physical objects and the environment through recording, measuring and interpreting imagery and digital representation of energy patterns derived from non-contact sensor system.
