To meet the increasing requirement for accurate three-dimensional models of buildings, continuous updates for urban planning, cartographic mapping, and civilian and military emergency responses, the efforts for building extraction using a variety of data sources have been made in the past in remote sensing, photogrammetry, image processing, and computer vision communities.
