Part II. Design
Hey, did you know that the word “design” is right there in the subtitle of this book? It’s true. I guess that means it’s probably time to stop talking about research and start talking about what you do with all that knowledge you’ve been collecting and how you might start turning those ideas into something more solid.
I appreciate your patience.
In case you skipped Part I, we’re going to assume that you have done your research. You know who your customer is. You know what her problem is. You think you know how to solve that problem.
Part II of this book is going to deal with design. It’s going to take you on a whirlwind tour through all the parts of design you’re going to need in order to get a product built.
This section covers everything from the nuts and bolts of building a prototype to figuring out when you don’t want one. It talks about what sort of design you shouldn’t be doing, since that can save you an incredible amount of time and hassle. It even covers a bit of visual design.
And yes. I couldn’t get away with having Lean in the title if I didn’t talk about Minimum Viable Products. Those get their own chapter.
Don’t get me wrong. You’re not anywhere near done with the validation process. But now that you’ve got a fully validated idea, isn’t it time to start building and validating your product? I think it is.
