appendix A Adding an AWS IAM profile

AWS keeps permissions fairly separate, so you will need to add IAM roles to enable the ASK CLI to access other services. This will give the CLI the correct permissions to create the skill fulfillment.

Head to AWS and use the search bar on the console welcome page to find Identity and Access Management (IAM). In the left-hand navigation, select Users, as in figure A.1. On the next page, click Add User, like in figure A.2. As you can see in figure A.3, you will choose any user name you like (such as the name of your local machine) and select both Programmatic Access as well as AWS Management Console Access.
