Troubleshooting Internet Explorer Problems

Because Web pages are complex and change frequently, you might occasionally have problems using Internet Explorer. The sections that follow provide troubleshooting guidance for the following types of problems:

  • Internet Explorer does not start.

  • An add-on does not work properly.

  • Some Web pages do not display properly.

  • An unwanted toolbar appears.

  • The home page or other settings have changed.

Note

If you need to study the communications between Internet Explorer and a Web site, try Fiddler. Fiddler analyzes Web communications and is much easier to understand than Network Monitor. For more information about Fiddler (a free download), visit http://www.fiddlertool.com/fiddler.
