Troubleshooting Active Directory
As part of routine maintenance, you need to monitor domain controllers, global catalog servers, bridgehead servers, and site links. If you suspect problems with Active Directory, you should begin your diagnostics and troubleshooting with replication in most cases. By configuring monitoring of Active Directory intrasite and intersite replication, you can diagnose and resolve most replication problems. Keep in mind, though, that Active Directory replication has several service dependencies, including: LDAP, Domain Name System (DNS), Kerberos v5 Authentication, and Remote Procedure Call (RPC).
