I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Working with Basic and Dynamic Disks
Windows Server 2008 supports two types of disk configurations:
Basic. The standard disk type used in previous versions of Windows. Basic disks are divided into partitions and can be used with previous versions of Windows.
Dynamic. An enhanced disk type for Windows Server 2008 that you can update without having to restart the system (in most cases). Dynamic disks are divided into volumes and can be used only with Windows 2000 and later releases of Windows.
Note
You can’t use dynamic disks on portable computers or with removable media.
