So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Customizing third-party plugins
As developers, we prefer building our own solutions compared to using third-party solutions. The main reason for building our own solutions is to gain more control over the features as well as future enhancements. However, the main purpose of using WordPress is to develop rapid low-cost solutions with the use of existing features. It's obvious that you have to work on customizing third-patty plugins at some point in your development career. These third-party plugins are developed to provide standard solutions to common problems. Therefore, these plugins won't fit into the complete requirements of most sites.
