It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
CHAPTER 7How AI Will Impact Every Industry and Function
Artificial intelligence has quickly become a versatile technology that has impacted a variety of industries and functions. However, different types of companies, industries, and functions are all approaching and adopting AI in a variety of ways and with different degrees of urgency. Just like cars have varying speeds and features, company size and structure are also influencing the speed and adoption. In this chapter, we'll discuss the following:
- The five (5) types of companies and their approach toward AI: blue chips, large private companies, small businesses, startups and scale-ups, and small business owners
- Ten industries and three use cases within each industry, for a total of thirty (30) AI use cases across industries
- Ten functions and three use cases within each function, for a total of thirty (30) AI use cases across functions
The Tipping Point for AI
Over the course of the book, I've shared with you a variety of ways in which AI is impacting businesses and our daily lives. While some may still think smart phones, digital assistants, and ChatGPT are the extent of it, AI has quickly become a versatile technology impacting a variety of industries such as agriculture, healthcare, and education, along with functions like procurement and marketing.
