CHAPTER 9What the Future Holds
As we look ahead, it will be fascinating to see how this space will transform various aspects of our lives, including how we receive healthcare, what we're taught in school, how we interface with home appliances, and more. While I can't predict the future, I can make certain assumptions based on existing trends across industries and functions and with what big conferences like Davos and the World Economic Forum are presenting. At this point in time, it's safe to identify these as the emerging trends in the next five years:
Continued Advancements in Machine Learning Machine learning, the driving force behind most AI applications, is expected to continue its rapid development. We will likely see more sophisticated algorithms that can learn with less data, more accuracy, and greater efficiency. This advancement will make AI applications more accessible and practical for a broader range of businesses, and it will penetrate our daily lives without us even knowing it.
Expansion of AI in Automation Automation, already a significant application of AI, will expand into more complex and nuanced tasks. Beyond routine and repetitive tasks, it will perform higher-level cognitive tasks, which could revolutionize industries by enhancing productivity and creating new opportunities for innovation.
