2.1 Installing zFS
zFS, as part of the Distributed File Service base element, can be customized without using
the DFS Client/Server or SMB File/Print Server components of the element. The zFS function
became available for the first time with z/OS Version 1 Release 2 (V1R2). For the enablement
of the zFS file system for General Availability with V1R2, install the following APARs/PTFs:
OW50850 / UW82925
OW51563 / UW83377
The support for zFS on Releases OS/390 V2R10 and z/OS V1R1 is provided by APAR
OW51780.
