B.6.2 Usage rules and benefits of CN
The REXX procedure CN is useful whenever you execute an MVS system command that will
complete within some seconds and you want to trap the output provided without a need to go
to a console or search for the output data in the syslog.
Functions provided are:
CN executes an MVS system command and as does the following:
– Uses the user ID as the name of the console by default.
– Uses the name specified by the first parameter C=console_name.
According to the timeout values specified in the header area of the procedure, CN traps
