Another approach to managing the information that’s contained in a document, workbook, or presentation is to assign a password that controls who can view the document and who can save changes to it. A password that you assign to control who can open a document uses advanced encryption, which is a standard method for making your file more secure. A password that you assign to control who can modify a document does not use an encryption method.
