Chapter 19: NR in Unlicensed Spectrum
Abstract
NR was primarily designed with licensed spectra in mind for release 15 but was already from the start prepared for the extension in release 16 to also support unlicensed spectra. In this chapter, the additions to NR to support unlicensed spectra, both in a license-assisted manner and in a standalone manner, are discussed.
