He built a massively successful technology firm that employed tens of thousands, which was fuelled by remarkable innovations. By the time of his death, he had collected over 500 patents. He was a driven man who worked hard, drove his employees hard and seldom listened to advice from others.
He was famous for nearly always wearing the same clothes and for his marathon work sessions. He was obsessed by innovation, and designed products that were as beautiful as they were useful.
