■  Business Requirements Document (BRD) describes in detail why a project is needed in order to fulfill a business goal, for example, reduce cost, increase revenue, improve efficiency, optimize customer satisfaction, enhance safety, standardize operations, sharpen compliance, etc. The BRD thoroughly documents these requirements, reflects formal approval by key stakeholders, and thereby specifies the deliverables of a project.
