When angles decrease as a trend develops, the tendency is for support and resistance to strengthen. Conversely, when the angle becomes steeper, resistance and support are more likely to weaken and may disintegrate entirely as volatility throws the trend into chaos.
This makes forecasting more difficult, as a steeper trend represents growing volatility and uncertainty about price patterns and the trend’s continuation. An example of a low angle in trendlines is shown in Figure 4.6.
