Harami and Harami Cross
The opposite of the engulfing is the harami pattern. This is not as strong as the engulfing as a reversal, but when found in the right proximity and confirmed by other signals, it provides good confirmation of the reversal forecast.
A bullish harami consists of a black session followed by a smaller white session. The first session is higher and lower in range than the white session, creating the shape of the typical harami. In Japanese, harami means “pregnant.”
A bearish harami is the opposite, a white session followed by a smaller black session. It should appear at the top of an uptrend to work as part of a forecast for bearish reversal.
