Active Directory Objects

Resources that you want to represent in Active Directory are created and stored as objects. Objects have attributes that define the kinds of information you want to store about resources. For example, the User object in Active Directory has attributes that help describe users, including first name, middle initial, last name, and display name. The Computer object in Active Directory has attributes that help describe computers, such as the computer’s name, description, location, and security identifier.
