It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Lack of transport encryption
Passing data as a plain text represents a huge risk for your IoT project. Encrypting data is always the best method to avoid data being intercepted. There are many standard encryption techniques and protocols, such as SSL and TLS. You can scan your project using a tool named sslscan, a built-in tool in Kali Linux:
