26 Writing the Narrative Voice
In this chapter, we look at some of the practical consequences of placing the narrative voice in the foreground. However, we need to make one warning before we go on. As we said earlier in the book, most of the traditional screenwriting rules are designed to feature the dramatic voice. Because we will be looking instead at the narrative voice, some of the ideas in this chapter will not only seem different but will also be a violation of those traditional rules. This is intentional.
