AR and MR
AUGMENTED REALITY’S (AR) breakout moment in learning and development has arrived. The hype machine is in high gear. The barriers to entry are lower than ever before. All this is not so subtly telling us that AR is here, and it will change everything!
OK, maybe not everything. In all honesty, we could swap out AR for any other “new” technology from the recent past and I’m sure similar things were said. Web 2.0, e-learning, mobile learning, and Flash all had their own everything! hype. Some lived up to it. Others did not. Some still are going strong while others have seen their time come to an end. Despite it all however, each had a moment of new opportunities and expectation to change L&D as we know it.
