The image source model is a popular method for generating simulated room
impulse responses. Once an RIR is available, reverberation can be applied
to an audio signal by convolving it with the RIR. This approach generates a
sound that appears as if the source signal had been recorded by a microphone
in the room. The technique gives a relatively simple way to generate a num-
ber of RIRs with differing characteristics, such as their reverberation times.
