Abstract
Data integration activities are the most time- and resource-consuming portion of building an enterprise business intelligence (BI) environment. Using data integration tools, in particular extract, transform, and load (ETL) tools has been the best practice in BI for more than a decade, but manually coded extracts are still the mainstay of the industry.
