当考察兼容性问题时，要考虑的一个关键问题是程序开发要用到哪些C++实现。为了学习C++，使用最完整且最有用的实现是很有意义的。而为了交付一个产品，更稳妥的策略可能是令产品能在尽量多的系统上运行。以往，这曾是不使用C++新特性的一个原因（更多的时候只是一个借口）。但是，C++实现正在逐渐合流，跨平台移植已不再需要特别小心地考虑兼容性问题了。
