The individual — as just a single action point among the billions that exist within a global economy — plays a miniscule role when it comes to transitioning from a linear economy to a circular economy. By that, we mean that the amount of change stemming from one person’s actions is minimal when compared to the actions of a larger, collective group or an organized body. When working together toward a common goal, however, individuals as a collective can play a significant role. Through your choices, the consumer can supply the force needed to make the shift from linear to circular. However, none of the large, global changes that can happen will be of any value if the actions required by the individual aren’t the most convenient options.
