This path of a product — from the design of the product itself and production of that product to the manufacturing process and from the packaging and distribution to the eventual sale — requires high levels of planning and organization to ensure that it reaches its intended customer. The sale of a product, for most businesses, is where their involvement ends, unfortunately. By not participating in the life of the product post-sale, businesses are missing out on an array of opportunities to eliminate the amount of waste they produce during the manufacturing process, improve the durability and resilience of their product, and eliminate costs associated with raw material extraction by recapturing the product after the consumer no longer needs or wants it.
