It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Transmit Queue Size
The Catalyst 3550 Family of switches allows for transmit queue size manipulation on a per-
queue basis on Gigabit Ethernet-capable interfaces. By default, each queue receives 25
percent of the transmit queue. At the time of publication, the Catalyst 3550 Family of
switches supports 4096 packet queues per Gigabit Ethernet interface; subsequently, each
queue receives 1024 packet queues per Gigabit Ethernet interface. Queue size manipulation
