Subtractive psychology is a term coined by Jamie Smart to refer to the radical new approach to resilience, well‐being and mental health described in this book. It is being used with dramatic results (under a variety of names by leading‐edge practitioners) in domains as diverse as elite sports, blue‐chip companies, treatment centres, business startups and even the penal system.
