“What are you looking for?”
The time was 2 a.m. The policeman had just walked round the corner to find an intoxicated‐looking man on his hands and knees, searching frantically beneath a streetlight.
“I'm looking for my key,” the man slurred.
“Where did you lose it?” the officer inquired.
“I dropped it in the long grass on a vacant lot, a couple of blocks away,” said the man, still searching.
“Then why are you looking here?” asked the puzzled cop.
The man rolled his eyes and said, “Because the light's better here.”
