Purpose

The purpose of Validation (VAL) is to demonstrate that a product or product component fulfills its intended use when placed in its intended environment.

Tip

Validation is a series of evaluations in which end users, the product (or prototype), and other stakeholders or systems in the intended environment (real or simulated) interact with each other in various typical and not-so-typical ways to determine whether the product will fulfill its intended use. The results may increase confidence in the product or identify issues to be resolved.
