The Darby Partnership

As in the case of the Applegate Partnership (Chapter 2), nongovernmental actors initiated the Darby Creek Partnership. In this case, the local chapter of a national nonprofit organization, The Nature Conservancy, founded the Darby Creek Partnership to pursue its interests in biodiversity conservation.This chapter looks at the potential benefits and limitations of collaboration led by nongovernmental actors with minimal institutional commitment from government.
