Value engineering is similar to a constructability analysis in that both are

eorts to nd a less expensive way to do the same thing. In fact the terms

oen get used interchangeably which can lead to confusion. e dier-

ence is in the approach. Where a constructability analysis reduces costs by

nding an easier way to achieve the same thing, value engineering reduces

cost by nding design solutions that provide the necessary function for

less cost.
