Chapter 4. Using Cisco IP Phone XML Objects and Tags

Creating interactive service applications is relatively simple once you master the XML objects and tags defined for Cisco IP Phones and the behavior that each XML object generates. The important thing to understand about services is that the phone does not have any concept of a state when it loads an XML page. Cisco IP Phones can use HTTP to load a page of content in many different places, starting with the pressing of the services button. Regardless of what causes the phone to load a page, the phone always behaves appropriately once it loads a page.
