It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

The following diagram shows the integration of open source tools with Salesforce sandbox and provides versioning, scriptless testing, and automated deployments using GitLab, the Force.com Migration tool, Jenkins, and Qualitia:
In the previous scenario, developers work with Eclipse and the Force.com IDE. sandbox will be in sync with the Eclipse workspace. After the changes are complete, the developer will push changes to Git and mention the components to be deployed in the package.xml file.
