In this chapter, we build on the logic circuit fundamentals established in Chapter 6, to gain an understanding of the basic structure and operation of computer systems. The manipulation of digital audio signals in music technology and audio systems is almost universally carried out by computers, and so some understanding of these important audio processing components is valuable.
