Abstract
With decentralized systems at its core, the next generation of the Internet is set to completely transform the digital environment. Decentralized systems mean that there is no single authority to control the operations of the internet; it is a mutually connected system of multiple devices, and now with its help, we are aiming to create a revolution in the age of the Internet. Needless to say, our aim is not to remove the existing infra but to improve upon the existing to better the data storage, utilize peer-to-peer networking, and enhance the data transmission and access through the underlying network architecture. This abstract aims to discuss the effects of introducing a decentralized system on infrastructure, communication, and the societal impact. The decentralized system architecture was readily adopted by the world because of the major change of stance it brought about data ownership, security, and overall privacy in the digital world. There is no single head point, which can decide which can stop or give Internet access to the world. There is reduction in single points of failure in architecture because all the necessary operations are usually performed by dispersing data and resources to geographically different locations. This in turn guarantees that the data cannot be easily ...
