So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Chapter 10 Treatments and Proposals
In many cases, you will need to flesh out your outline into a more detailed treatment, whether to share with collaborators (to ensure that you and they are clear on the story you’re telling), to run past an executive producer in order to get a “green light” (and resources) to start shooting, or to submit to a funding agency. Often, especially when submitted in support of a request for funding, these treatments are part of an overall fundraising proposal. This chapter talks about both of these documents, with the caveat that every situation is different. Before submitting a treatment or a proposal to outsiders, find out what form is preferred by the organization to which you’re submitting.
