8 Diversity and Inclusion
An important milestone in the history of diversity and inclusion (D&I)* is the recent realization that organizational diversity—defined as the degree of demographic or psychological heterogeneity in a workforce—is not sufficient to either reduce counterproductive or unfair obstacles to individuals who don’t belong to a normative ingroup, or to ignite an organization’s potential for creativity and innovation.
