It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Multistage Amplifiers
11.1 Introduction
Most of the time it is not possible to get the desired amplification by a single stage amplifier. Hence, a number of stages of amplifiers are connected in cascade to get the desired amplification. A number of stages are coupled in cascade through different types of coupling networks. The main functions of the coupling network are as follows:
- To allow the ac output signal of previous stage to reach the input of next stage without attenuation
- To isolate the dc bias conditions of connected stages
The important coupling methods are:
- RC coupling
- Transformer coupling
- Direct coupling
- Impedance coupling
